The goal for English Language Arts 12 is to refine, apply, and extend the solid foundation of knowledge, skills, and strategies previously acquired in English Language Arts you have completed in grades 9 through 11. Through reading and viewing a variety of sources (both classic and contemporary) you will be expected and required to develop your ability to analyze, synthesize, discuss and think with innovation both orally and in writing. The trimester will focus on the concept of “The Human Condition” as it relates to the individual and society/community as well as the concept diversity.  You will be expected and required to synthesize information, ideas, and themes to understand the past, present, and to consider the future. Your endeavors and efforts this trimester will help prepare for responsible action as productive, contributing American citizens in the context of a global society.

You will be expected and required to synthesize information, ideas, and themes to understand the past, the present, and to think with innovation about the future. Special attention will be paid to ethics with regard to determining responsibility to oneself, to society, to humanity in general, as well as to physical and ecological environment. You will also identify and apply the skills you have acquired throughout your formal and informal education as you prepare for responsible action as a productive, contributing American citizens in the context of a global society.
