Conditional Activity Settings

Conditional Activity Settings

Conditional Activity in Moodle 2.0 is actually just a setting you can apply on any activity within Moodle.  It is sometimes also called Adaptive Release.

  • Simply put, it allows you to open and close Activities based on what the student has done previously.  In other words, it's conditional on their previous activity or completion.
  • For example, a student wouldn't be able move onto another unit until they had successfully completed a quiz.  Another example is that a student couldn't participate in the discussion until they had clicked on the resource which might be a web site to read or some other piece of content.
  • Here is the link to the Moodle documentation about this setting.  Make sure to scroll all the way down the page to see the example which shows are to use this setting.  Then below are two short videos that explain what the student will see and what you, the teacher will see.
